During Assembly at The Merton Primary School on Friday 3rd July, Derek Cox and Josie Hutchinson, judges of the Syston in Bloom panel, presented prizes to the children who won the painting competition.
There were three age groups;.7/8 years; 9/10 years and 11/12 years. The winners are shown in the picture below which features Demi, Corey, Luke and George, who were the 1st and 2nd prize winners for the age groups 7/8 and 9/10. Unfortunately the winners of the 11/12 year group were absent, but will receive their prizes of a large paint set and artists book.
There was great excitement when the winning children were announced and came out to receive a certificate that included a photograph of their entry, which made it more personal. The paintings will be on show in the Methodist Church Centre when the judges visit Syston for the Syston in Bloom competition.
