Can you help? Update

We had a tremendous response to the unidentified lady in the photo of last month’s Syston Town News and I felt I would like to let you all know who she was. Her name was Freda Potter (nee Whittaker).  Her photograph had been handed into the council offices at the community centre and has now been returned to her widowed husband Mr Potter.  I have found out a lot about this lovely lady from the telephone calls I have received and although no longer with us, she is well remembered by friends and acquaintances who worked with her when she was employed at the glove factory and during her service in the WRAF.
