“This Christmas Remember all Families,” Urge Rainbows

With the help of Randolf the Rainbows Reindeer, staff and volunteers at Rainbows Children’s Hospice are putting the ‘fun’ back into fundraising with a fantastic array of Christmas activities – all of which will raise much needed funds for Rainbows.
“We know that everyone has had to think long and hard this year about what they give and to whom,” says Patricia Brookes, Director of Fundraising at Rainbows.  “We thought Christmas was the perfect opportunity to inject some fun into our fundraising efforts and, at the same time, make what we do this festive season as varied as possible.  Hence the idea of a Christmas Campaign spearheaded by our one and only Randolf the Rainbows Reindeer.”
Activities range from Santa Runs through to Carol Concerts and there is also an opportunity to buy Rainbows festive goodies too.  Just log onto www.rainbows.co.uk/shop and have a look at the selection of Christmas gifts including Randolf the Rainbows Reindeer himself, funky diaries for 2010 and much, much more.
“We’d love to hear from anyone who is doing anything for Rainbows over the month of December,” adds Patricia.  “It will be great to see the many and varied ideas come to life and to gather as much support as we can.  We are also in early talks with several of the region’s newspapers and radio stations who may well be spearheading our Christmas campaign and supporting us.”
Some of the money will be used to help decorate the new building.  Says Dana Simons, Appeal Manager, “Although we are very nearly there with raising all the funds needed to complete our Building for the Future appeal, we do need a final push.  Please help us to hit our target and finish our new building. We’ve done great so far – we just need to raise the last £500,000. The difference it will make to families, their children and young people will be staggering.”

21st December  Sing Christmas 2009, with BBC Radio Leicester
