Christmas Parade Saturday 5th December

smaller SADCOTE logoThis year’s preparations are well under way for the Christmas parade and switching on of the Christmas lights.  The event is supported by The Syston Chamber of Trade and The Syston Town Council and their collaboration throughout the year to create an exciting start to the festive session will come to effect on Saturday 5th December.STC logo
The Melton Road will be closed between Somerfield Car Park entrance and Barclay’s Bank on the corner of High Street from 1.00pm until 9.00pm to allow preparations for the event including Billy Bates setting up stalls along the Melton Road.
The parade will start from the Community Centre at 4.30pm and travel up High Street and onto Melton Road at Barclay’s Bank, finishing in the Barkby Brook Bridge Car Park, when the lights will be switched on. The Parade will include Thurmaston Marching Band, Cheerleaders and Santa on his sleigh.
Radio Leicester will be in attendance in the Car Park providing commentary and music for the occasion. As will the stage for the event, Councillor Howard Midgley, Chairman of Syston Town Council will announce the winners of the Best Dressed Shop Window Competition from this location.
