Syston Band on the Park and the December concert

SYSTON BAND ON THE PARK 28th SEPTEMBER
We had a good crowd and fun was had by all with people bringing camping chairs and settling down for an hour musical entertainment, especially when there was a clash between us playing a nice quiet piece of music and the Scout Band came marching past leading the British Legion parade. We had quite a few people just walking past on the road not realizing we were there and then stopping to listen. The Band would like to thank the Town and Council for the support shown and not forgetting St Peter and St Paul’s Church for lending us some chairs to sit on whilst we performed which was most useful. Thanks to all the players who worked hard, not forgetting thanks to our dedicated Musical Director Dennis Powell, who kept us on track along with some light hearted banter with the crowd.
