Ratcliffe College Supports Cycle to Work Initiative, November 2009
Ratcliffe College has signed up to participate in the government’s Cycle to Work initiative. The Cycle to Work initiative is one of a series of measures introduced by the Government under their Green Transport Plan and is a tax incentive aimed at encouraging employees to cycle to work, thereby reducing air pollution and improving their health. The scheme allows employees to benefit from a long term loan of bikes and related accessories completely tax free. Mr Dziemianko, Head of Year eight, was the first member of staff to participate in this scheme and has reaped the financial and health benefits provided ‘I often cycle to work and this new initiative has enabled me to buy some really decent equipment, I think it’s a great incentive and one I will encourage other members of staff to participate in!’
