Age Concern Syston would like to thank the Trustees of the Horace Taylor Fund for sponsoring their Friday Day Care for the housebound for a further year. Without their help, Age Concern would not be able to run the Friday Day Care and the senior citizens, who are housebound and make use of the service, would not enjoy outings, lunches, parties and lively conversation throughout the year. The Horace Taylor Trust makes grants both to individuals and projects in the town of Syston.
It is stressed that the Trust is not only for the elderly of Syston, it is for all residents of any age. The objects of the Trust are to assist either generally or individually, residents of Syston who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress. The Trustees meet approximately eight times a year to consider applications for help from individual persons living in the Parish of Syston. Grants can be made for a variety of needs and by making grants of money or providing or paying for items, services or facilities the Trustees hope to help reduce the need, hardship or distress of such persons.
Application forms are available at the Syston Volunteer Centre in School Street, the Age Concern Syston office in the Methodist Church Centre, the Library and the Health Centre.
If you need help with filling in the form you can call the Leicester Charity Link on 0116 222 2200 between the hours of 10.00am and 12noon and 2.00pm and 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
Take the completed form to Syston Volunteer Centre in School Street or send it direct to the Clerk of the Trustees and once it has been received a home visit will be arranged by Leicester Charity Link. The Trustees are not given names of applicants so each application is treated fairly.
The Fund can also provide grants to charities and voluntary groups in the town of Syston who assist people that are in need, hardship and distress. These applications should be made to the Clerk of Trustees and include a copy of your most recent annual report and accounts.
