Well Loved Tales: Ladybird At The Record Office

Don’t miss out on a wonderful opportunity to indulge in the nostalgia of those ‘well-loved tales’ from your childhood on Thursday 18th March, between 6.00 and 9.00pm.
We all remember the Ladybird books from Cinderella’s ball gown to the How it Works series. The Local Studies Library at the Record Office for Leicestershire, Leicester & Rutland has an extensive collection of over 10,000 Ladybird items. We are holding a publicity event showcase some of the gems within the collection including some rare and signed items. Ladybird author and illustrator Kathie Layfield will be giving a talk and displaying some of her original artwork. Councillor David Sprason, Cabinet Member for Adults and Communities said “This is a nationally important collection that holds something for everyone. We expect this event to be very popular with people of all ages and highlight the range of material available in the Record Office.”
Please come along to the Record Office on Long Street in Wigston Magna for an evening of fun and facts about Ladybird. The event is free but booking is essential to ensure your place. Light refreshments will be served.
