Nearly Great Victorian Exhibition

The Merton school year group five and six have been learning about life in the Victorian period and to show this off to parents, carers and guardians they set up an Exhibition on Wednesday 17th March between 3.15pm and 4.00pm.
Year five children had provided a display of writing, see pictures below, and manual operated Carousels. Year six children had produced electric motors to rotate their carousels, see pictures below. They had also produced a display of artwork, made gruel and dressed in Victorian costumes and acted as guides to help visitors look round the exhibition. Year five children put on a short play for visitors to enjoy. All the children spoken to said it was better to attend school now than in Victorian times.
