A local children’s party business is seeing such an increase in bookings that they are looking to add to their team of party leaders. Local mums Jackie Johnstone of Quorn, pictured with her two daughters, Kaitlin and Olivia with JoJo, Jabberjacks best loved Playmates party guest, and Verity Graham of Rothley set up Jabberjacks Leicestershire nearly three years ago after they recognised a gap in the market for more traditional and active parties for children aged between two and four and five and seven. Initially the pair thought they would see a few bookings a week but now much to their delight they need to recruit additional party leaders to help meet demand.
“We have been thrilled with the response to our parties” explains Jackie “Most of our bookings have come through word of mouth, which is great. Booking a child’s party can be a really stressful thing, so I think people are always pleased when they get a positive recommendation from someone”.
Thinking they may see a decline in bookings as people started to tighten their belts, the ladies didn’t expect to have to start a party leader recruitment campaign, “We thought that we may see a drop in the number of parties, but it seems that ensuring their children have a fantastic birthday is still a priority to many”. explains Verity.
Jabberjacks has had a huge amount of enquiries from across the county and unfortunately in a few instances they have not been able to take the bookings as they are already full, even with a team of four! They are now looking to add to the team and have just started advertising for another party leader.
“It is a great job for someone who is looking for weekend work as it provides flexibility for those who have children and school runs etc during the week” explains Jackie, “We hope to have someone trained up before the end of June so that we are ready for all the fun summer parties.
