On Thursday 15th July at 11.00am the new Mind charity shop opened. This is their second shop in Syston but unlike the one on High Street which specialises in furniture, this one is for clothing, bric-a-brac, DVDs, CDs and accessories.There was a small crowd of people waiting for the doors to officially open.
They soon filled the shop and goods were selling well. The first few customers were treated to a soft drink from a member of staff in fancy dress. Our picture below shows the moment when the ribbon was cut to open the shop, with Victoria Taylor and Yvonne Banner hoping that being nestled between two other charity shops will encourage people to go in and see what they have on offer.
