St Peter and St Paul Church News

Ladies Guild
Monday 28th June saw the final meeting of our year when we had a cheese and biscuit supper followed by the AGM.
Margaret Burnett will continue as the Chairman and Sheila Borderick as Treasurer.
Margaret gave a report on the last successful year during which we managed to raise £1000 for the Baby Unit at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. This project will continue into the next year.
Meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month in the Parish Church Centre in Lower Church Street. Amongst the meetings next year we will hear speakers covering history, practical activities, travel, as well as continue with our fund raising.
We are a friendly group and would welcome anyone who would like to join us.
Sheila Borderick.

Services in July included learning how Jesus sent out the disciples in pairs to tell everyone about Him, but that they had to go with nothing. The story of the Good Samaritan and how we can help people and the story of Martha and Mary and how we sometimes forget to be still and listen to what God is trying to say to us.
There are no services during August. We will restart on the 5th September and look forward to meeting any new people who would like to see what we are about!

Summer Festival – See separate article.
