Charnwood Sports Awards Winner

James Freer’s Schools of Tae Kwon Do Pupil Olivia Burzio won the award for Junior Disabled Sports Person of the Year at the Charnwood Sports awards held on 6th December 2011. The 13 year old Syston girl who was runner up in 2010 won the award after winning four trophies at The Lincoln area Championships and becoming The English Champion in her category for sparring at Telford. Olivia who is profoundly deaf and has a cochlear implant took up the sport three years ago. After being presented with the award at Loughborough Town Hall by England International netball players Jo Harten and Jade Clarke Olivia said ‘I’m very pleased to win this award I now want to get my black belt. I want to say thank you to Mr Freer and all of the other black belts at the Club who have helped me.’
