Syston Library Celebrates its 50th Anniversary on World Book Day 2012

Syston Library invites people to a coffee morning on Thursday 1st March to celebrating its 50th anniversary. Anyone wanting to join in the anniversary celebrations is invited to go along to Syston Library between 10.00am and 1.00pm when refreshments and cake will be on offer.

To make the morning extra special some of the library staff will be dressed in 1960’s period costume and the ‘Where were you in ‘62’ display will be unveiled. The display will be at the library throughout March and has been created using contributions from local people showing where they, or their families, were and what they were doing in the 1960’s.

If you have any memories, pictures or newspaper clippings from Syston in the 1960’s or if you would like to share a picture of yourself or a memory from wherever you were in 1962 it is not too late Syston Library would love to here from you.

If you would like more information please phone 0116 305 3500, email [email protected] or drop in and speak to the library staff.
