I am pleased to report that our May meeting was a great success. We were lucky enough to welcome Lisa Pidgeon from the Little Bird School of Stitch craft who is based in Birstall. Lisa gave a fascinating talk about her work and the challenges she faced when making the transition from working full time in healthcare to launching a successful creative business. Lisa runs workshops and courses around the county which give people from all backgrounds a chance to try crochet, knitting, sewing and other stitch craft
It was inspiring for us to hear about the work she does and we were delighted to see examples of her work. The WIGS then had the opportunity to try crochet for themselves and Lisa was able to give advice on the spot. An enjoyable evening was had by all!
The WIGS have also been busy making cakes for the East Goscote Village Hall jubilee community party with the theme ‘Fit for a Queen’ which took place on bank holiday Monday. Our meeting on Thursday 28th June was a Cheese and Wine Social Event with Clarins, Argent Jewellery, Jamie Oliver at Home and Body Shop products available. We have a summer break in July with our next meeting scheduled for Thursday 30th August.
Guests are always welcome at East Goscote Village hall the last Thursday of the month at 8.00pm. New members are most welcome and guests are asked to contribute £4 on the door. For more information please call the WIGS hotline on 0785 679 5124 or search for us on Facebook via Charnwood WIGS
We hope to see you then!
