Previously known as Dr Roper and Partners at Syston Health Centre.
The practice formed Patient Participation group in February 2011, made up of volunteer patients of varying ages.
The group meets up every six to eight weeks with Practice Manager Anabel Sharma and Doctor Green, with better communication as the aim and a possible outcome of a Monthly Newsletter. This group is not a forum for complaints, though patients can be advised on where to channel these.
The group also run features on the practice website www.systondoctors.co.uk
Members of the group have their photos and group contact e-mail displayed in the surgery waiting room and patients are welcome to contact any of them, at any reasonable time, should they wish to discuss any aspects of the surgery.
Following the results of a recent survey conducted by the Patient Group, the group worked with the practice to implement processes that would improve services for the patients. The results of this can be found on the practice website. In addition to this, the practice will be offering online services from August 2012, which will allow patients to book and cancel appointments online and also order repeat medications electronically. If you are registered to the practice and would like to use the new service, call in to reception and ask to be issued with your personal login details so you can access the web services once they become available.
We also regrettably announce that Dr. Roper retired on Friday 15th June, and he will be sadly missed. Doctor Roper had been with the Surgery for over 33 years, making him a trusted advisor within the extended Syston community as well as his peers, I’m sure you’ll join me in saying ‘Have a Happy Retirement Dr. Roper.’
But where one door closes another one opens and we welcome the new partner, Dr. Girish Purohit (male) who joined the partnership on Monday 2nd July as a new full time partner and I’m sure we’ll all welcome him as the newest edition to the Jubilee Medical Practice.
The practice would also like to inform patients that there is a minor injuries unit open within surgery times, where patients can come to us to be assessed/treated, rather than going to accident and emergency at the LRI for such things as small cuts, sprains and minor burns.
The practice can offer a more rapid response to your injury and organise follow ups if appropriate.
If patients are unable to attend this surgery for any reason, out of hours, there are adequate Walk in centres at both Leicester Royal Infirmary and Loughborough which are open 24/7.
The walk in centre at the LRI can be found in the Urgent Care Centre next to children’s A+E and the walk in centre in Loughborough can be found at Pinfold Gate.
Or if you’re not able to access any of these, advice can be given on OUT OF HOURS: 0845 845 0422.
