Success at Wreake Valley Academy

Students and staff at Wreake Valley Academy celebrated excellent results at Advanced Level again this year.  The number of students achieving the top A and A* grades increased with students taking courses in Further Maths, Sociology and Performing Arts achieving particularly highly.

A large number of students achieved three or more passes at the highest grades, including Charlotte Carter, Lauren Chapman, Tallulah Cherry, Kiran Madhvani, Rowan James, Shyam Jobanputra and Sharelle Taylor. Of particular note are the achievements of Head Boy, Jay Pancholi who achieved five A*s to secure a place at Leicester to study medicine, having turned down a place at Cambridge University. Mohannad Irshad achieved three A’s and an A* and will also study medicine at Leicester whilst Jonathan Peckover achieved four A grades and will study Chemical engineering at Birmingham. Adam Fardell has secured a place at Warwick University to study Mathematics having achieved 3 A’s and an A*.

Principal, Tony Pinnock, said “I am really pleased with the A level outcomes this year, students and staff have worked hard to secure some excellent results which will ensure that youngsters will go on to the university course of their choice. Competition for university places has been tough again this year and I am delighted that so many Wreake Valley students are going to be studying at some of the best universities in the country.”

A* – E grades: 95%

Percentage, of Exam Entries, with A* – C grades: 62%

Percentage, of Exam Entries, with A* and A grades: 16%
