Isobel Swims a mile for Children in Need

On Sunday 18th November nine year old Isobel Barnes completed 64 lengths of South Charnwood Leisure Centre’s swimming pool to raise money for Children in Need. What is amazing about this challenge is that Isobel swam the mile in her pyjamas. Isobel, who is a member of Leicester Penguins Swimming Club had told her family at the beginning of the week that she wanted to do this, and so her parents got in touch with the leisure centre who very kindly roped off a lane for her to complete the challenge during the normal family swim time.

Our picture above shows: Isobel centre with friends Ella (right) and Tia (left) there to give her support. Her proud parents, brother, and grandmother, Gweneth Holmes were also there to give support. Isobel completed her challenge in 45 minutes and has raised £500 to go to Children in Need. Well done Isobel.
