President Shirley Franklin welcomed members to the March meeting.

Speaker for the evening was Laraine Tucker, a teacher of the martial arts discipline of ‘Tai Chi’. She works at various venues around Leicestershire and was quite at ease with some members of various abilities joining in. It enhances health and improves the condition of asthma, knee problems and eases muscle tension.

Afterwards, Laraine demonstrated another sequence using a sword. There was plenty to learn in such a short space of time.

The vote of thanks was given by Mrs J Webbon.

Competition for two letters ‘F’ and ‘R’ was won by Mrs M Gamble and
Mrs J Bishop.

Raffle prize was won by Mrs B Lancaster.

Tea hostesses were Mrs B Gamble and Mrs C Parker.

Next monthly meeting is Wed April 3rd, Syston Community Centre, 7.30pm. A talk on ‘Bess of Hardwick Hall’, Speaker – Julie Ede. Competition letter ‘E’.
