With the really cold weather soon to be upon us, all our teams are playing as much football as possible whilst the pitches are still playable.
Under 9’s are still enjoying a good season and scoring goals, working hard during matches and training sessions. A good mixed balance of young team players.
Under 10’s are having mixed results but still enjoying their football. After a couple of defeats they bounced back with a recent 2-1 win over Barrow Town Kestrels.?The team are working well and enjoying themselves, as well as learning new skills, which is what it is all about.
Under 11’s have had mixed results since our last update including two very good 2-2 draws, and a hard fought 3-1 defeat against the top team in our division. Still, there are many games left with all 11 players playing week in-week out and training hard.
Under 15’s are still having a difficult season with un-rewarding results. The manager still says they have been very unlucky with the results so far, and that their position in the table is not a true reflection of their team performances so far.
Under 16’s are still having an excellent season and are still unbeaten, and are top of the table. Their aim is to keep the team at the top of the table and continue their team performances.
Riverside United Football Club are based at Wreake Valley Academy, Syston, and hold training sessions during the week for each age group.
We are now also holding training sessions for children who are aged five, six and seven years old on a Saturday morning.
If you have a child who would like to join, or require further information, please contact our club secretary Mr David Ward on 0116 260 5498 or 07789 812 820.
