Roundhill Flower and Garden Club

January Meeting Report

On a cold January evening Judi Cripps from Burton-on-Trent gave a colourful Demonstration called ‘What’s in a Title’.
The first design warmed up the audience with its glowing red and orange shades, and the flowers were arranged around an exotic lantern.
A container made from dried Ivy stems and filled with Spring flowers (Daffodils, Hyacinth and Tulips) seemed to embody Winter and the promise of Spring at the same time.
Judi completed five designs whilst telling us about her recent appearance on television talking about historical flowers, and meeting Lynda Bellingham who was the host of the programme. Judi is currently the Area chairman of the North Midlands Area of NAFAS (National Association of Flower Arranging Societies) of which our Club is a member. As she arranged the designs and talked about her life we marvelled at the way in which she fitted so much into her busy flower arranging life. Judi is a flower arranging tutor and gave plenty of helpful tips for the new members in the audience.
