April Meeting Report
Our meeting this month took us on a trip through the Cotswolds in the company of Katherin Ward, ably assisted by her husband(John), who did a sterling job on the slide projector.
We saw scenes from Chipping Camden through Broadway, Woodstock, Bourton on the Water , Castle Combe and Bath to name but a few. Along the way we had a peak into many gardens with topiary hedges, lakes and terraces not to mention the tallest gravity fed fountain in the country at Stanway House and Gardens. There was an old working woollen mill, also a silk mill, and St Edwards Church in Stowe on the Wold had Yew trees that appear to be growing into the very fabric of the church entrance!
An interesting journey and one well worth taking yourself if you have an interest in gardening or if you just like to look at lovely gardens, olde worlde buildings?or the countryside, as the scenery is very beautiful.
