During the May meeting our members discussed the chosen WI resolution to decide whether we were in agreement with it or not. The resolution going forward this year is covering the lack of available organs for transplant in the UK. It was an interesting discussion and a subject which many felt passionate about, many of us did not realise that your next of kin were able to refuse to allow your organs for transplant even if you had entered
your name on the donor register. If this is your wish then it is very important that you discuss your wish to be a donor with your next of kin and also how important this can be in helping others.
After the discussion and our vote we enjoyed fish and chips and a quiz devised by Ruth Green, which caused quite a lot of hilarity.
Our next meeting is at Barkby Village Hall on 17th June at 7.30pm, it will be a talk entitled: Cossington Meadow Nature Reserve, all are welcome to join us.
