On Tuesday 17th June at approximately 3.30pm. Karen Lock, Chair of Governors, officially cut the ribbon to open the new building that will accommodate the foundation and Key stage one classes from September 2014.
Karen explained to the large group of Parents, children and staff, how the Head, Mrs Thompson, had worked hard to get the new building, as when the plans were submitted, the school was told that funding had to be cut and they may not get it! To everyone’s delight they managed to get approval and the building is now complete.
It will make a huge difference to the school as they will be able to use the extra space freed up in the main building to allow single year groups.
The new building will have a separate entrance with cloak room areas, state of the art equipment, and a small kitchen for the 5* Club which will be relocating to this new building from St Peters and St Pauls Primary Academy in September 2014. They will use the area between the two class rooms, “A wonderful addition to the school,” said the head Mrs S Thompson.
Parents and children spent some time wandering around the building and enjoyed engaging with the toys in the foundation class area. There were many positive comments made by children, parents, visitors and staff.
