Syston Methodist Church Remembers

Syston Methodist Church annual Autumn Fayre is on Saturday 8th November in the church hall from 10.00am to 12.00 noon. This year it will have a World War 1 theme, and as well as the usual stalls there will be a ‘Messy Bunker’ for children to take part in games, side shows, Wii bowling and face painting. Refreshments will be available all morning.
Alongside the fayre, there will be an exhibition of local WW1 memorabilia in the church. People will be able to light a candle in memory and reflect on those that gave their lives so bravely during the conflict.
In the evening, John who hosts the weekly tea dance will be guiding people through their paces as we hold a dance and supper. WW1 costume is not obligatory but may be worn if wished. The dance starts at 7.30pm – tickets cost £8.50 each and are available by calling 0116 367 2892.
We look forward to seeing you at one or more of these events. Proceeds from all events will contribute to the proposed youth café to be established in the church hall.
