The Gables Day Nursery

October and November have been busy for us, so far we have all taken part in a ‘Guy Fawkes’ competition and learnt about fireworks and fire danger. We had a really fun time at the spooky Halloween party, which was fancy dress – and we painted our faces, made toffee apples and had all sorts of delights!
Gables Day Nursery 2Vanessa, one of our teachers, even brought in her spider, her name is Aragog, she is a Chilean Rose Tarantula and comes from the rainforest in Chile. The children and staff took it in turns to hold her (well, most of us were brave enough!!) Vanessa has her own animals and does children’s parties on the weekend – for more information search ‘tickled skink’.
On Saturday 13th December we will be holding a Christmas fair from 11.00am to 3.00pm at the nursery. Santa will be here with special guests. There will be stalls to browse, turkey cobs and hot drinks and some festive Christmas music to get us all in the spirit in the lead up to Christmas. All proceeds from the event will go to ‘Jeans for Genes’ charity number 1141583. Free entry for all.
