EngAGE Business Scheme Launched

Local charity, Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland, has introduced a new corporate membership scheme, called ‘EngAGE Business’ which has been developed with support from Kirby & West, Everards Brewery and University Hospitals of Leicester.
The charity benefits from the tremendous loyalty and long term support of many Leicestershire and Rutland organisations, but is now looking to make more organisations aware of the work of the charity in supporting the over 50’s locally. Services offered include free and confidential information and advice about anything affecting quality of later life, befriending, respite care, lunch clubs, home care and support in the community as well as community resource centres.
Tony Donovan, Executive Director of Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland said: “This is a cost effective and commercially focused membership scheme that offers real benefits to local businesses. We feel this is a step forward in engaging more closely with them and building stronger relationships with our corporate partners whilst bringing in essential funds, particularly at a time when public sector funding is becoming more fragile.”
For less than £1 a day, the scheme will offer local organisations a range of marketing and PR opportunities and also supports their corporate and social responsibility objectives.
Annual membership will fund 10 older people with access to our information and advice service, casework for 5 older people to help them claim their benefit entitlements, a telephone befriending call every week for a year, or a hot cooked lunch and social activities at a lunch club for 6 months.
