Winter Nets and Senior Fixtures

All Syston Town Cricket Club teams are currently preparing for the season ahead at indoor nets. The seniors, under 17s, under 15s, under 13s and under 11 hardball squads are all training at the City Cricket Academy, Freemans Common, Leicester on Wednesday evenings. The juniors train from 7.00pm to 8.00pm and the seniors and under 17s from 8.00pm to 9.00pm.
Kwik cricketers and under 11 incrediball squads are practising at Gateway Sixth Form College, Colin Grundy Drive, Leicester, also on Wednesday evenings from 6.00pm to 7.00pm. All training sessions run until Wednesday 8th April. If you haven’t started yet it’s not too late and new members of all age groups are always welcome. Just turn up on the night and give it a go or, if you would prefer, give senior coach John Fraser a ring first on 01455 212 729.
The senior fixtures have now been released and the 1st XI will be featuring once again in the Premier Division of the Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket League. They have a tough start to the season opening with an away match against Market Harborough followed by Kibworth at home before going on their travels again to meet Loughborough Town. The 2nd XI will again appear in Division 3 of the same league. There are only two other 2nd XIs in the division so they will be facing stiff competition throughout the season. They start off with a home match against Newtown Linford 2nd XI followed by a trip to Electricity Sports and then return home to meet Illston Abey.
Fixtures for the Sunday XI who will appear in Division 2 of the Grantham & Melton Cricket Association have yet to be published as are the junior fixtures. However the club will once again be fielding junior sides at all levels in the Leicestershire Youth Cricket League.
