Roundhill Flower and Garden Club

January Meeting
Gayles Flowers 1Pat Billing was our Demonstrator for the first meeting of 2015 and her title was ‘Timeless Classics’. This gave Pat the opportunity to use some of her favourite containers.
A large classically shaped urn was used for a modern design with the plant material placed in a parallel across the top. A mixture of Spring flowers and year round favourites were used to great effect.
A tall arrangement of foliage was given added zest with the addition of two beautiful stems of Orchids. Looking forward to February, Pat used a metal grid on a stand to hold two hearts composed of the classic flower for Valentines Day, red roses (variety ‘Passion?’) these were joined by lime green Medilino (cane) to give a modern twist.

Gayles Flowers 2We always enjoy the demonstrations by Pat and as she lives close by in Loughborough we do not have worry about bad weather preventing her from getting to the venue, though we do appreciate her turning out on a cold January evening to delight and entertain us.
