Fosseway Bowls Club

The 2015 season starts on Saturday 11th April and as is customary the club President Mr Parmi Gill will put the first wood of the season down the rink at 3.00pm. We are having a spring fair on the same day, stalls will include cakes, plants, books, raffle plus the bar with be open so you can have tea, coffee or soft drinks.
The Fosseway Warrior Board will be outside the club entrance drive. The club is on the left hand side of the road going towards Melton Road and Roundhill School. Call in and see what a successful club Fosseway is. If you would like to sponsor Fosseway in any form please call me, Roger, on Tel: 0116 260 8044 or email: [email protected]
The new ‘Posh’ ladies and gents toilets are now complete, many thanks go to Dave Hurst for his work and all members who have been giving the clubhouse a lick of paint.
We lost our oldest member last year, John Clist who was in his nineties and although unable to play was at all the matches home and away. He had many bowling friends in Leicestershire, he was a true gentleman. He will be missed this season and in the future. The family have donated £250 to the club in Johns memory. The money will be spent on new mats. The club have been presented with a new bench by the family of the late Ralf and Dot Roberts. Older Fosseway members will remember them both as a lovely couple. We thank the family of Ralf and Dot, the bench will have their names on.
I will put reports in future Stn issues of the league, cup and friendly matches,
I wish all bowlers at Fosseway an enjoyable season.
Roger Beaton Junior Vice President
