Queniborough WI

It’s March already, Spring is in the air and the Queniborough ladies celebrated their annual members night with a fish and chip supper held in the village hall. An evening without cake, we needed to consider those waistlines after all those chips, but the odd tipple or two was readily imbibed, (consumed). A Spring flower was the order of the day for the competition, which then became raffle prizes.
As it is the centenary of the Women’s Institute this year, one lucky member from every club in the UK has been invited to attend a Garden Party hosted by the Duchess of Cornwall at Buckingham Palace on the 2nd June. A ballot of members wishing to go was held and the winner was Cilla Lane. We held a short business meeting discussing such things as forthcoming events, what’s going on in and around other clubs and as the evening drew to a close we enjoyed a short general knowledge quiz, a bit of a natter and a reminder of what’s on next month. A speaker from Norman and Underwood will be talking about the restoration of old buildings.
Everyone is welcome, so do come and visit us at the village hall on Wednesday 1st April at 7.45 pm. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it and will want to join our happy little group!
