Broad Street Playgroup
The Broad Street Playgroup meets in the Catholic Church Hall and have recently redeveloped their garden area, see our picture above. It now boasts all-weather grass and new play equipment which enables the children to play outside all year round, extreme weather permitting!
The playgroup offers a warm, fun and friendly environment where the children learn through play in both their indoor and outdoor environments.
One of the parents, Kathryn Harris said “My eldest son started at the playgroup in September last year and has developed rapidly over those 12 plus months in their friendly, caring and stimulating environment. They have excellent facilities which are always spotlessly clean and tidy and their redeveloped garden with the play equipment is great fun for the little ones. If the weather doesn’t permit outdoor play the children are still able to run around in the hall and play on the bikes and other ride-ons. My son is always excited about going to playgroup to see his friends and has built up a good relationship with ‘the ladies’. The ladies genuinely care about the children they look after and get to know them, their parents and their siblings really well. My 18-month-old is looking forward to being able to go there when he is two and I know that he will be well cared for and develop in leaps and bounds like his brother.”
Spaces are currently available for children aged two to five years. Their sessions run from 9.00am to 12noon Monday to Friday and 12.40pm to 3.40pm Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. They also have a lunch club on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
If you have any old craft items, paper, card, beads, even old CDs or birthday cards then the playgroup would be happy to receive them to use with the children during creative play.
