Make and Play

Local children learned about the joy of giving, when Make and Play baby and toddler group produced two Christmas hampers to be donated to local community members nominated by the Syston Age Concern group.
The children, pictured above, helping to pack the hampers, learned that a simple gift can help to lift the spirits of those who may be feeling lonely or having suffered a sadness, (such as a bereavement).
The children of Make and Play were visited by a reindeer before he was due to fly off and help Santa! Children were extremely excited to be visited by the beautiful creature, and many enjoyed their photo’s to be taken with their new friend, who belongs to local children’s charity The Phoenix Children’s foundation. The group raffled two knitted reindeer hampers and raised a total of £115.60 to donate to the children’s charity which raises funds to provide disabled, special needs and terminally ill children with specialist equipment and/or therapeutic activities throughout the UK. Their aim is to help the children with their physical and mental development in order to enhance the quality of their lives. Readers can find out more by visiting this link:
