Fond Farewell for 40 Years of Governing

Governors, staff and students wished a fond farewell to Barbara Bromley, who retired from being a Community Governor at Wreake Valley Academy after 40 years.
Barbara became a governor shortly after the school opened its doors to students in 1972 and has committed her time to being a governor ever since.
Barbara has seen many changes during her time at Wreake Valley, both in terms of education and the expectations placed on governors.
Barbara was presented with gifts from staff, governors and students.
Students Toby Tailby (Year 8) and John Tailby (Year 10) presented Barbara with a cake that students had made to reflect her love of gardening and thanked her for such an outstanding commitment to the school.
