Introducing Your New Summer Fayre Committee

Following the plea from Meg and Bob Hendry at the Carnival asking for people to take over the running of the Carnival, the Stn would like to introduce you to the members of a new committee which has now been set up and will take the re-named Syston Summer Fayre event forward.
The committee comprises of ten members, but not all were present at the meeting when the above picture was taken. The picture shows from L-R: Ady, Jay (Chairman) Mark (Vice-Chairman), Wendy (Secretary) Dave and Fiona (Treasurer). The absent members are Scott from Radio Fox, Faith, Julie and Charlotte.
The event has been renamed from the Syston Carnival to Syston Summer Fayre as the new committee wanted to widen it’s appeal and enable them to encourage more participation from local groups and individuals by developing a new look to the event.
The committee are open to suggestions from the community. This is a community event and it will continue to support our local charities and groups by enabling them to have space at the Fayre to promote themselves and raise funds.
For 2019, the date of the new Syston Summer Fayre will be Saturday 31st August and we have requested a booking of Central Park from the Syston Town Council for this date.
