The 2018 event was a real step into the unknown, for the first time in nine years the event would take place along Melton Road between the mini roundabout and Pet world.
The weather was very kind and the feedback on the Stn Facebook page was amazing with everyone saying it was the best one yet and asking to keep it on the road in future.
The event panel would like to thank everyone who helped organise it, supported, helped, had a stall or performed on the day, including Santa and his helpers.
The Mayor of Charnwood; Cllr Christine Harris stayed all afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed her time in Syston, including the fireworks. Syston Town Council Chairman; Cllr Paul Henry escorted her around the event. Here is hoping the 2019 event will be as spectacular and dare we say even better! The winners of the Best Dressed Shop Window was The Mews, with J. Shaw (upholstery) second and LOROS third. The three judges, Beaver; Jaiden, Cub; Charlie, and Scout; Charley are shown in the picture below.
Anyone who would like to join the event panel, please contact Ursula on 0116 260 7150 and come along to our meetings held during office hours at the Community Centre. We are always welcoming to new people and ideas.
