New Barkby WI

Mrs Kerstyn Fryman, President, welcomed members and visitors to New Barkby WI’s March meeting. ‘Jerusalem’ was sung and all pertinent matters dealt with.
The evening took the form of a ‘Fun Auction’. Vice-President Mrs Shirley Franklin acted as Auctioneer and persuaded all present to “Grab a bargain!” and bid for items that had been donated by members. From toiletries to books, bric-a-brac and candles, everyone enjoyed the light-hearted banter of the evening. The vote of thanks was given by Mrs K. Fryman.
Competition ‘N’ was won by Mrs A. Montague with a handcrafted needle case.
The raffle prize winner was Mrs L. Findlay winning a beauty treatment gift set.
The tea hostesses were Mrs J. Brutnall and Mrs V. Cobb, assisted by Mrs J. Goulden.
