The Cricket Season IS Almost Upon US

In 2019 Syston Town C.C. 1st XI will be featuring in the Premier Division of the Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket League for the nineteenth consecutive season. The 1st XI, skippered by Mo Pardesi, pictured left, start on 20th April with a home match against Kegworth Town followed by a trip to play Leicester Ivanhoe. Two home matches then follow against Barrow Town and Lutterworth and they begin their County Cup campaign with a visit to Hinckley Amateur on 19th May. The Premiership T20 competition is in a different format this season and Syston kick off their campaign with a visit to Sileby on 5th May.
After a difficult first half of the season last year the 2nd XI retained their Division 3 status with five wins in their last seven games. Dharmist Bathia’s team face another very competitive year and start off on 20th April with a visit to newly promoted Loughborough Greenfields. This is followed by a home match against Hinckley Town 2nd XI before trips to play Narborough & Littlethorpe and Leicester Banks. The Sunday XI, captained by Ivan Spibey, will be featuring in Division 2 of the Grantham and Melton Cricket Association. They start on 12th May with a trip to play Stamford followed by another away match at Melton before they return home to play Buckminster.
The club will be fielding teams at Kwik cricket, Under 11 Hardball and Incrediball, Under 13 and Under 15 age groups and all fixtures are posted on the club’s website In place of an Under 17 side, Syston have once again entered a team in Division 3 of the Burrough & District Evening League. It will be a mixture of youth and experience and starts off on 7th May with an away fixture against Sproxton followed by a trip to Frisby HR before a home game against Uppingham.
