Will you find an Angel This Christmas?

More than 80 angels are due to be hidden on the streets of Syston this December. ‘Angels in Syston’ was created in 2018, when over 60 angel tree decorations were found by unsuspecting lucky people.
Initially intended for children, angels were hidden close to primary schools, to enable children who found them to experience the importance and joy of repaying a kindness.
Based on the concept of ‘paying it forward’ a note was left with each angel instructing a kindness to be done in exchange for taking the angel home, such as befriending a lonely child at school or tidying their toys away.
However, the creators were delighted when adults began to share their find on the Facebook page ‘Angels in Syston’ with details of the good deeds they had undertaken as a result of finding an angel. What became evident is the wondrous good deeds that Syston residents already do in their daily lives, such as helping elderly friends, neighbours and family. Syston truly is abundant with angels.
Merry Christmas to all, and keep your eyes peeled for an angel!
