Coronavirus and The Syston Town News

Well today as we enter unprecedented times, we have an April issue (7,400 copies) ready for distribution from tomorrow but following the necessary lock down by the PM yesterday evening. We can’t get it to you!

We plan to drop copies into Tesco’s Syston, newsagents and any shops selling essentials, but for the safety of our distributors and you our readers, we will not be delivering to your door as we will not put our wonderful band of distributors at risk!

There will be an electronic version out as soon as I can get it uploaded and will post on here when that has happened. If you know of anyone who doesn’t use social media please let them know and if you can print them a copy or get in touch with us and we will get a copy to them.

As your dedicated newspaper we have a dilemma in that our ethos is Community and we want to support you all, businesses who pay for advertising and provide the revenue to get the paper printed, contributors who write for us and provide you with something to read, clubs and societies whom we promote and feature their events, children with our wordsearch competition, crossword for Adults BUT we recognise that to slow down this Coronavirus and its spread we have to protect not just ourselves, but also YOU!

So if you can access the paper online please do so, if you wish to have a paper copy contact me on 0116 269 3221 and we will try and get a copy to you.

Working together we can get through this!

Remember Coronavirus is contagious. Avoid physical contact, keep your distance (Social Distancing) 2metres/6 feet away from another person when outside. Wash your hands with soap and water regularly.

Take care, stay safe.
