Garden Waste Service Update

The garden waste service was suspended on March 23 and while we had hoped it would resume soon, it is now clear that it will not be operating for some time.

This is because our waste partner Serco is experiencing staff shortages due to the coronavirus pandemic and they are having to divert staff to ensure the recycling and refuse service is maintained. Therefore, we would like to inform garden waste service subscribers that we will not be taking any payments to renew subscriptions. This means that any automatic renewal payments which were due to be taken on Wednesday 1st April 2020 will not be taken.

Please do not call us if you usually pay over the phone. We will not be taking any future payments until the service is ready to resume.

When the garden waste service begins to operate again, we will contact those customers whose subscriptions were due to be renewed and encourage them to sign up again.

Refunds

We are offering extended permits instead of refunds. Anyone who is a current subscriber will have their permits extended by the amount of time the service is not running for ie one month or two months etc.

We apologise for any inconvenience and will aim to restore the service as soon as possible. We are sure customers understand that we are operating our services during very unusual and unprecedented times.
