Girlguiding Leicestershire’s big “Leap Over”

Girlguiding Leicestershire’s big “Leap Over” that we have organised for the girls and leaders in the county during the Easter holidays.

The challenge is on to sleep over somewhere new – in a pop up tent in the sitting room, a blanket fort on the landing or a shelter in the garden. Members will also have to make their own meal (and wash it up!), enjoy a real or pretend campfire and write a letter or card or draw a picture for someone who might be on their own.

Their reward is a certificate and a badge.

This initiative has proved enormously popular. Girls and leaders couldn’t wait to get started and photos have come flooding in of dens and tents and s’mores cooked over a  firepit.

Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers from around the country and abroad have wanted to become involved in the adventure with enquiries from Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Wiltshire and Australia!
