The Warning Zone

The WARNING ZONE centre was set up and opened in October 2006. It is a local initiative run by Leicestershire and Rutland Crimebeat and today schools from all over Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland use the WARNING ZONE throughout the academic year. Warning Zone is an online experience and is made up of eight set-piece scenarios. Each incorporates realistic settings, interactive equipment and special effects. There are no paper and pens, everything being ‘hands-on’ and experiential. Each scenario only lasts 12 minutes, has five key learning points and concludes with a check on understanding. On Thursday 10th November a fund raising event was held at The Merton Primary school to raise money towards the admission fee for the year six pupils at the school to visit Warning Zone website. Three beauty therapists from Spa Harmony in Syston very kindly donated their time from 6.30pm to 9.30pm, providing attendees with manicures, pedicures, back massages and express facials at the school. The evening raised £141.00 from the treatments and a raffle on the night. Rachel who organised the event would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who supported the event.
