Badminton Coaching InitiativeBadminton Coaching Initiative

Building on the success of ongoing junior coaching sessions Melton Old Grammarians Badminton Club (OGs) is launching a new initiative for potential players in the 15 to 18 age group. Backed by funding from Leicestershire and Rutland Sport OG's will be running a series of clinics for this intermediate age group at Long Field Academy in Melton. The Club's qualified coaches will run these sessions from 8pm to 9pm on Monday evenings commencing on 13th March through to 3rd April. Commenting on this latest initiative from OGs Club Captain Neil Hunt said " For some years now we have had a very successful junior section and by introducing an intermediate category we are keen to bridge the gap between juniors and adult members. No previous badminton experience is needed but equally for those who have played before the coaching sessions will prove invaluable. This new initiative is a logical extension of the work we are doing in local schools via after school badminton classes and periodic badminton festivals. We are extremely grateful to Leicestershire and Rutland Sport for helping us to develop this new section at Old Grammarians" The club will supply all necessary equipment as well as full coaching and for further information anyone interested should in the first instance contact any of the following - Trevor Sanders ( Club Coach ) - [email protected] Linda Hallam. ( Club Coach) - [email protected] Christine Stanley ( Club Secretary) - 01664 565 292 or [email protected]
