Birstall and District Art Society

At the Birstall and District Art Society (BADAS) AGM held in December, it was revealed that the winner of the public vote at exhibition held in November was Bermooda Triangle (a picture of three cows, shown above) by the Chair Meg Grant.
Members are getting back into the routine, attending Friday morning painting sessions at the Co-op Social Club in Birstall and Wednesday evening sessions at Wanlip.
A programme of demonstrations is planned to commence on the second Tuesday of the month, starting on 13th February with a landscape in acrylic with a reduced palette by local artist Liz Black Dowding. This is to be followed on 12th March by an appraisal of members’ paintings carried out by Amanda Jackson.
In April (9th) BADAS welcomes Tim Fisher for a demonstration postponed from October 2023 entitled ‘Waterscape, use of wet pastels for reflections’. Demonstrations are from 6.45pm until 8.45pm at the Palmer Tompkinson Centre at the Cedars Academy Birstall and non-members are welcome to attend for a fee of £4.
