About the Syston Town News

I would like to introduce you to the Syston Town News, a local community newspaper which is issued on or before the first of each month for the residents and businesses of Syston, Leicestershire and surrounding villages. From May 2011 it has been printed in high quality full colour.

Since its inception in 1996, the paper has gone from strength to strength with over 7,400 copies now being produced each month, the majority of which are delivered door to door in Syston, Barkby, Barkby Thorpe and Ratcliffe on the Wreake, most of Queniborough and some of East Goscote. Remaining copies are left in such public areas as South Charnwood Swimming Pool, Schools, Library, Health Centre, Post Offices, Supermarkets, Newsagents, Cafes, Pubs and Hairdressing Salons etc.

It is also available online through ISSUU a free app that allows the newspaper to be read on PC, Tablet or Mobile, which allows readers who do not live within our paper distribution to enjoy reading this great little newspaper.

The paper reports on events that are very local to our readership and includes photographs of the activities locally.  The town of Syston, Leicestershire is continually growing as are the surrounding villages and this helps to keep the good community relations we have enjoyed for many years.

The businesses that advertise with us do so because they are mostly local and have been with us since the start. A great deal of positive feedback given by residents in the area indicates that the Syston Town News is well received and being a quality community paper its ‘life’ in the home is considerably longer than that of other free papers, thereby keeping our advertisers’ names to the fore.

We also produce a Business/Information Directory that forms part the centre pages which, together with useful telephone numbers, gives readers a valuable source of information on local businesses, clubs, societies etc.
