The closure is to enable us to undertake the following work: \n\nInstallation of a new self-service kiosk to replace the existing out of date one\nInstallation of an upgraded version of Library Plus\, a system which enables customers to gain access to the library whilst it is unstaffed\n\nSyston was the pilot for Library Plus which is now being rolled out across the county\, but it still requires an upgrade to the existing system.  Staff will be putting up a notice to alert customers to the closure and will be contacting local groups who use the library.  \nMore information can be found on the Syston Library page on Leicester County Councils website and their social media feeds over the coming weeks.

They will be invited to share their experiences with those setting policing priorities and give their views on crime and public safety. \nThe event is being held at Asda in Thurmaston between 12.30-2.30pm on Tuesday 27 March. \nPublic feedback is vital to both the PCC and the Chief Constable as they seek to meet the policing needs and expectations of different communities and helps to influence where resources are allocated. \nWilly Bach said: “These are events enable a grass roots conversation between the public\, the Chief and I. They are always well-attended and is a great opportunity for a real two-way conversation. We all learn something. \n“Simon and I will be around throughout the afternoon to chat to people and talk about local concerns. DESCRIPTION:An exhibition with information about a plan setting out how Leicester and Leicestershire will grow in the future is at a number of locations in Charnwood.\nThe display is about a draft Strategic Growth Plan which is being developed by a partnership formed by Leicester City and Leicestershire County councils\, the seven local borough and district authorities and the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP).\nPeople are being urged to have their say on the growth plan during a consultation which runs until 5th April 2018. People can find out more about the plan online or by visiting the display. The growth plan is also being highlighted in the media and on social media.\nThe growth plan puts forward proposals for the new housing and transport improvements that would be needed to attract jobs and investment to Leicester and Leicestershire from now until 2050.\nThe final version of the plan will provide strategic direction and help shape the Local Plans that the city\, borough and district councils are or will be preparing or reviewing.\nIt will also be used to support bids for Government funding to deliver the infrastructure needed to support growth.\nCharnwood Borough Council has arranged for a display to be at the Syston Town Council\, Community Centre\, School Street\, Syston – 12th March to 5th April.\nFor more information about the growth plan and to have a say\, please visit www.llstrategicgrowthplan.org.uk.

DESCRIPTION:SILEBY COMMUNITY CENTRE\,  HIGH STREET\, SILEBY  LE12 7RX            \n10am to 4.30pm (4pm Sunday) \nThe annual model railway exhibition organised by SYSTON Model Railway Society takes place at SILEBY Community centre on 17/18 February featuring 13 top quality layouts.\nCome and see this years offering which include  a 37ft long G scale layout normally running outdoors. Layouts featuring Penzance\, Scotland\, the Midlands and Normandy. The Clubs own OO layout “Vale of Tranmer”. Also three layouts featuring breweries which tells you something about modellers.\n“This is our 23rd exhibition. Railway modelling is enjoyable and teaches us skills such as carpentry\, researching\, planning\, engineering and electrics.  There is something for all he family and accompanied children can come in for FREE“ said Chairman\, Roy Wilson. \nAfter the success of last year’s exhibition the Society presented   LOROS   with a  donation of  £400. This years chosen charity is Prostrate Cancer Research.\nExtensive trade support including new and second-hand model railways\, scenics\, bargain books and plenty for kit bashers.\nSponsored by BOOKLAW and THE SIGNAL BOX at  Anstey.\nAdmission Adults   £4\,   Pensioners £3.50\,  families £8\nACCOMPANIED CHILDREN  (under 15) FREE\nFree large car park\, Food\, refreshments and tombola.\nSileby Community Centre is only 5 mins from the A46 Leicester Western-by-pass. 2 minutes from Sileby Station (Sat only).\nFor all enquiries please ring  Chris Leach\,  on 0116 2605760.
