Party in the Barn

The Party in the barn at Kirks Farm, Barkby at the beginning of June was a great success.  The barn was decorated,  the music was good – mixed 60’s onwards,     the live group “The Cheeze” were great, noisy and energetic and there was dancing too.  The bar did a roaring trade and, what can I say about the fish and chip supper?  It was delicious.  Those fellas in the chip van worked so hard to feed everyone – some 300 people!!  There were many comments – all good – about them being so tasty and hot.  Although there were tables and chairs inside the barn we were very lucky with the weather again and hay bales were used as chairs outside in the yard.  There was even a manned childrens’ corner.   It was a fantastic evening, enjoyed by everyone  –  a lot of preparation for the Kirk family for which we are very grateful and also grateful  to everyone who helped .
