Update on Charlie preparing for his Cross Channel Swim

Finished last Dover training over the weekend of the 6th and 7th July.
On the Saturday 6th it had involved three back to back 1hr 15 min swims starting at 9.30am. These were completed by late afternoon. Then followed a night swim.
On Sunday, it was a 6.30am start for one hour’s swim, followed by another swim late morning for an hour.
The pictures above show Charlie and team during that weekend’s training.
Prior to the weekend, Charlie had completed a two hour cold water swim test at Stoney Cove in 14 deg water temperature.
He is now looking forward to the crossing in early August.
Charlie is well onto his fundraising target, but is hoping to raise as much as possible for Aspire – if you would like to support this young person and his team with a donation, please visit:

In addition to his training we have been informed that Charlie has won a community award and was awarded it within his school assembly at King Edward VII Grammar School, Melton Mowbray.
The award reads: “In his swimming, and in his fund-raising, he has shown the determination, the courage and the hard work that is the essence of the community” (and the rest of the relay team).
Well Done Charlie and Good luck in your Swim Challenge across the English Channel this month.
