Small Charity, Big Impact

From small acorns, mighty oaks grow…. “that’s us”. The Cauda Equina UK charity shop in the Town Square. Coming up to our 5th Anniversary later in the year we have now won two awards at the 1st Inaugural Charity Awards held in Nottingham.
The awards won are “Small Charity. Big Impact” which showed how a relatively unknown condition being Cauda Equina Syndrome has made a positive presence on our community by way of the shop and how just one shop can happily compete with the more recognised charity shops .
The second award is “Best Social and Digital Media” which is for our website and Facebook pages. A lot of hard work has been put in to make our website easy to use and the forums create a place for those with Cauda Equina to chat to others who may be faced with similar issues. Our Facebook page is updated twice weekly at least with items in the shop for sale. You can reserve items you see listed on the photos we upload. Our Facebook page is Cauda Equina Syndrome UK charity shop. please do join us .The more the merrier !
It has been hard work getting to this stage and its with big thanks to the local community for all their donations brought into us that makes it possible for us to continue.
The money raised at the moment is helping fund support groups for people to meet, keep fit and chat to experts as well as funding our help line which assists people who need advice and support with Cauda Equina. Victoria and Jackie appreciate everything that is donated and are always looking for bric a brac, household, ladies and gents clothing and books.
Our craft area is ever growing and we would love more wool, zips, cottons, patterns etc. Also if you have any prizes we can use in our forthcoming raffle we would be very grateful.
We are open 9 am – 3.30 pm Monday to Saturday and are able to collect donations from the Syston area if you are unable to pop them down to us. call us on 0116 260 8294. Thank you in advance. Victoria Reed.
